Hi there! I'm Topper a lovable 6-year-old, 60-pound Terrier Mix on the hunt for my forever home! I've come a long way from ESLR, where I was misunderstood and kept isolated because people thought I wasn't dog-friendly. But guess what? They couldn't have been more wrong! I adore other dogs and absolutely love meeting new human friends. My favorite thing? Spreading love and cuddles to everyone I meet! I'm already neutered and in good overall health, just healing up from a little irritation on my back legbut it's getting better every day. I'm a total sweetheart who lives for couch and bed snuggles, and I'm always down for some chew toy fun. I'm crate-trained, walk nicely on a leash, and I'm working hard on my potty training. Sometimes I need a little help remembering to go outside after meals, but a quick walk right after eating does the trick! I'd be a wonderful addition to any homewhether you have other dogs or not. I love belly rubs (especially while lying on my back with my silly, wrinkly happy face), and I promise to bring endless joy and laughter into your life. I'm okay being left alone and don't struggle with separation anxiety, but I do best in a safe space with toys to keep my brain busy. I've been gentle with kids who walk by, and I think I'd fit in beautifully with a loving family. The Animal Pad's Adoption Policy

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane. Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational. All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times. All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise. Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000. Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc. Adoption Application: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
