Tony 25-184's Story

Meet Tony — the most handsome dog in the land, and he knows it (just a little).

Tony is around 2 years old and is the kind of dog who fills a room with joy the second he walks in. He’s friendly, confident, and endlessly happy. He’s a rough-and-tumble kind of guy who loves to play hard, especially with toys. In fact, Tony throws his own toys and balls into the air and catches them himself — it’s impossible not to smile watching him.

He’s smart and eager, already starting to learn his basic obedience, and he truly shines when given structure. Tony is high energy, but this isn’t chaos energy — it’s “let’s train, play, and learn” energy. After training, playtime, and enrichment sessions, he settles down nicely and is content to relax.

Because Tony is still learning his manners and doesn’t always realize his size and strength, he would do best in a home with older children. Little kids may get accidentally knocked over during his enthusiastic moments. We have not yet tested Tony with other animals, as we’re still getting to know him and working with him one-on-one.

Tony is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and negative for disease. He is healthy, happy, and ready to bond deeply with someone who wants an active, engaged companion and is willing to continue his training and enrichment.

Tony isn’t just looking for a home — he’s looking for his person. Someone who will laugh at his antics, keep his mind busy, and appreciate just how special he is.

Adoption Application Instructions

Please do not submit an adoption application through Petfinder.

The Town of Stratford Animal Control does not review or receive Petfinder applications.

To apply to adopt, you must complete the official adoption process through the Town of Stratford website:

https://www.stratfordct.gov/o/stratford/page/animal-adoption

All adoption information, requirements, and the correct application can be found at the link above.
