I came into care during a spay/neuter clinic this past winter and tested positive for heartworm disease. I'm finally finishing up my recovery and feeling so much better, and I'm ready to find my furever home! <br/><br/>I was a nervous guy when I first came into rescue, but very quickly I came out of my shell and settled into the good life! Foster mom says that I am a really great dog and I make everyone smile when they meet me. I think that's partly because I'm such a happy, friendly guy, but also because I'm so cute! I look like a German Shepherd but have short little legs like a corgi. I'm not sure what the big deal is, but people seem to think it's a pretty neat mix of breeds! <br/><br/>I'm looking forward to finding a family who will teach me lots of new things. I'm very eager to learn and have already learned a bunch of commands including all the basics, plus &quot;leave it&quot;, &quot;spin&quot;, and &quot;twist&quot;! I'm fully housebroken and kennel trained, and am working on walking nicely on a leash. I get a bit too excited when I see another dog or a squirrel, but I'm learning to stay calm and have already made progress. I get along great with other dogs, cats, and kids, and would make a wonderful addition to just about any home. <br/><br/>If you're looking for a happy little guy to teach some fun tricks to, I may be your perfect match!
