TONKA's Story
Tonka's Doggie Day Out 2/21/2026: We went to a brewery and there were kids running back and forth and Tonka seemed fine and calm around them. The kids were about 3-5 years old. Tonka is extremely friendly, affectionate, does not really bark, enjoys being pet, is very comfortable with people and being in public. Excited to see other dogs. Stays by your side while walking. Seems content to just hang out with his humans. Easy to get into the car and is pretty good in the car. Doesn’t pull on the leash. Loves to play tug of war with ropes. He does like to jump up on people. He also likes to play tug of war with his leash. Otherwise he’s really chill and calm and easy to handle Tonka and I first went to Pet Express Plus and he had a fun time smelling all the treats and seeing all the dogs. He is very eager and happy to see other dogs and wants to say hi. We then went to Sutter landing and walked around for a bit. Tonka definitely is still active and able and would make a good hiking partner. He does not pull on the leash and follows you easily. Then we went to get some Corti brother sandwiches and Tonka had a fun time people watching. He was very calm and content to just hang out. Then we took our sandwiches to Porchlight brewery and ate there and Tonka was so calm and stayed by our sides the entire time. It was very easy to have him out in public and he just enjoys hanging out with his humans. He was so friendly to everyone who wanted to give him a pet!! Also he is very calm in that there were a lot of children running around and people on bikes coming into the brewery and he did not pull or tug to want to go see them. We had a great time with Tonka and he was very easy to take in the car. He’d make a great dog for anyone who has a big backyard and an ability to take him out for long walks! He still has a lot of energy and is very playful. Tonka's adoption fee has been paid for with a donation from a community member
