Tonka's Story

Meet Tonka

Tonka is an absolute doll — and she’s a breeze! She’s settling beautifully into foster life and has been such an easy, sweet girl to have around. She is about 1 years old and will probably be no more than 50 lbs once she gains a bit more weight.

Tonka is affectionate, gentle, and loves being near her people. She follows her foster mom around and has completely fallen in love with her 13-year-old human sister, so we think a home with kids could be a wonderful bonus.

She’s falling right into the routine with the other dogs in her foster home. She’s curious about the resident cat and chickens but has been respectful and hasn’t tried to chase or harm them.

Tonka is currently healing from her spay, but it doesn’t seem to bother her. She’s eating well, taking her medication like a champ, and enjoying smaller meals throughout the day while she learns to slow down — especially when toppers are involved!

She can be a little hesitant to explore the yard alone, but with her person beside her, she happily sniffs and explores. Once healed, we’ll begin working on leash walking and adventures beyond the yard.

Tonka hasn’t shown any desire to escape and seems perfectly happy being part of the family. She’s sweet, easygoing, loving, and truly a breeze to foster. We think she’s going to make one very lucky family incredibly happy.

Rally Rescue's Adoption Policy
Our goal is to make sure every animal is placed in a safe, loving, and lasting home. Potential adopters begin by completing a short online application, which helps us learn more about their home environment, lifestyle, and experience with pets. Once reviewed, a volunteer follows up to answer questions and ensure the animal is a good fit. Approved applicants are invited to meet the pet in person—either at a foster home or adoption event. If it’s a match, we complete the adoption contract, collect the adoption fee, and provide full medical and behavioral records. All animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and up to date on preventatives before adoption. We stay in touch after placement to offer support and ensure a smooth transition for both the adopter and the pet.
