Tommy and Moka's Story
Moka and Tommy are part of a group of 26 dogs who were confiscated from a single home by Antioch Animal Services. They are now learning what a safe, loving life looks like - together.
When 7-year-old Moka’s foster family offered to help, they specifically asked for the most shut-down dog from the group, and that was 9 lb Moka. The good news is that she is slowly beginning to blossom. With patience and kindness from her foster parents, and support from brother Tommy, she’s settling in and starting to discover the comforts of home and the kindness of people.
5-year-old, 9 lb Tommy was rescued by the same foster family shortly after Moka. Despite everything he’s been through, he is an incredibly sweet boy who has adjusted beautifully in their foster home. He’s happy, affectionate, and brings a gentle confidence wherever he goes.
The two immediately recognized each other. Since then they have formed a very special bond. They play like crazy together, she grooms him, and Tommy has helped Moka come out of her shell in the most wonderful ways. She now follows him outside into the yard, something she was previously too timid to do.
Tommy clearly helps Moka feel safe, and Moka finds comfort in his presence. Because of this beautiful connection, they are being adopted out as a bonded pair so they can continue their journey together.
They will do best in a patient, loving home that understands that the best things in life sometimes just take a little time.
