I'm Tommy and I'm the bravest dog at Haven Pet Center! I know because I'm also the most timid and the only time a dog can be brave is when he is afraid. <br/><br/>When I arrived from Animal Friends of the Valleys in August 2025, I was too afraid to leave my kennel even for the staff that I saw every day. They kept telling me that I was too big to be carried, but I know I'm a small dog at heart. I have a secret though: did you know that if you pretend to be really fierce and bark really loud that everyone will leave when walking by your kennel? It's great! No one comes in and finds out how shy I am! In truth, that's only how I act in my kennel. When staff or volunteers take me out for yard time, I spend my time glued to their side. Sometimes to be brave, all I need is a good pet or two!<br/><br/>I was super lucky and got to spend some time in a foster home. In a home, I was a different dog! I'm quiet, a good listener, leave cats alone, and absolutely love playing fetch! If you ask to meet me and throw a toy in the yards, you might get a glimpse of who I really am inside.
