Tommy is a calm, patient, easy-going 5 year old male Staffordshire Terrier Mix. Tommy has a tragic backstory, previously abandoned by his orginal owner, he then became one of the longest residents at an animal shelter in Rochester. With time running out, and desparate pleas for help, someone came forward to adopt Tommy. However, this miriacle was sadly short lived. Within just a few hours of his adoption, Tommy was posted by his new adopter as needing a home due to not having enough time for him. AAO stepped in, not wanting this sweet boy to be failed for a third time, and secured him a safe and loving home for him to decompress in. He is currently being fostered in Buffalo, NY as an only pup; the king of his temporary castle! He shares his new home with two older children and is loving life. <br/><br/>Tommy is incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than snuggling up with his favourite humans. Tommy is the ultimate companion: playful, protective, and charming. He's very gentle and loves going on walks, exploring new places, and getting belly rubs while he is rolling around. Tommy loves his people but would prefer to be the only dog in the home. He knows basic commands, walks well on a leash and does not need to be crated when he is home alone as he just patiently waits for his people to return. He is loyal, affectionate, and eager to please...not to mention super hunky and healthy! Despite Tommy's heartbreaking past, he has always maintained his laid back, happy go lucky spirit, and calm, loving demeanor.
