Tolas IN FOSTER's Story

It’s GiveNOLA Day, so we’re here to talk about one of the dogs who reminds us exactly why this work matters so much: Tolas. ??

Tolas has been with us since March 2025, waiting patiently for the right person to see her for who she truly is. She may not be the dog who runs up to every stranger demanding attention, but the people who know and love her will tell you there is something incredibly special about earning this girl’s trust.

Tolas is sweet, sensitive, and thoughtful. She takes a little time to feel safe with new people, but once she does, she becomes deeply loyal and affectionate. She’ll curl up beside you, climb into your lap for cuddles, roll over for belly rubs, and quietly become your constant companion.

And walks? Walks are her absolute favorite thing in the world. The leash comes out and suddenly this shy girl lights up. Exploring the world with her people helps build her confidence and lets her personality shine in the best way.

Tolas also enjoys other calm dogs and may do especially well with a canine buddy to help her continue growing more comfortable and confident.

She would thrive in a quieter, patient home without small children — a home that understands that the best relationships sometimes take a little time to build.

Dogs like Tolas are why GiveNOLA Day matters. Not every rescue story is instant. Some dogs need months of care, structure, walks, treats, encouragement, and people willing to keep believing in them while they wait for the right home.

Your support allows us to continue saying "yes" to dogs like Tolas and to keep showing up for them every single day until their people finally find them.

And we know her people are out there somewhere. ??
