Toby & Rickie's Story
Toby (M) and Rickie (F) are a bonded pair of black lab mixes who sadly came into our care after their dad, long-time Charley's volunteer and supporter John Wells, passed away. As you can imagine, they miss their dad and their home greatly! They look forward to going home with someone who has lots of love to share with two senior dogs.

Toby is a 60-pound male, neutered, approximately 10 years old, and Rickie is a 65-pound female, spayed, approximately 11 years old; both are Black Lab mixes.

Toby is your classic Black Lab - he thinks that whatever is happening right now is the best thing ever, and he needs to be right in the middle of it. Rickie is a bit shy and is frightened by loud noises, so a quieter adult home may be best.

They are both very people focused. They love to go for leash walks, Toby with a big smile on his face and Rickie prancing around. They also love to ride in the car and bark about it the entire time. They have a bit of arthritis and take Dasuquin (joint supplement) for it.

One of the dogs is on a special diet that Charley's would be happy to supply.

They are both friendly with people and dogs, but cat free home. They would be fine living with another gentle dog. They need to be adopted/fostered together. They are so very sweet and deserve all the best things in life.

We know that these two are neutered/ spayed and up to date on rabies but are unsure at this point if they have received a recent distemper combo vaccine and 4DX test (for heartworm and tick-borne disease). We're in the process of trying to track down their recent vet records. If needed, Charley's Strays will cover any additional vetting to bring them up to date.

Please consider opening your home to either fostering and / or adopting Toby and Rickie! Please e-mail Charleysstrays@yahoo.com or call (207) 426-9482 if you are interested in meeting Toby and Rickie!
