Hi,
I’m Toby, my foster family thinks I am adorable. I have always been loved but I’m in rescue because not everyone who gets a puppy should. There’s a lot of things humans need to think about when they decide to get a puppy. We’re pretty expensive to own and we need to learn a lot of things in the 1st year or two.

If my water bowl is empty I will bring it to my mom so she can fill it up. I like my crate and can open it and go inside anytime I want. I know how to sit and if you want to teach me lots of things, I love to make my family happy. I’ve even tried talking to them which is fun. I sometimes bring my leash to my mom to go outside. I’m pretty good with house training but I’ve never had a yard so that is new to me. My mom cried a lot when she had to give me to a rescue. She and my Dad were older and home so I was a lot of company fir them, they both caught COVID and were having a tough time financially and couldn’t afford to take me to the vet or for grooming.

But they loved me and wanted me to be cared for. See I have had seizures and may have epilepsy. It’s not too bad, it doesn’t hurt and I hope someone will still want to adopt me. So far I have been in foster care almost a month and I haven’t had a seizure. I had one April 28th and my doctor says if I don’t have 1 or more a month they don’t prescribe medication. I hope I will outgrow them but I don’t think I can but I’m going to try.

** Please note: Due to their size, our dogs are not suitable for homes with children under 5..

We do not have a facility, all dogs are fostered in the homes of our volunteers. If you are interested in adopting a dog from Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue and other Petite Paws, please visit our website at www.lilpaws-malteserescue.org and fill out an adoption application. This is the first step in our adoption process. Our goal is to place our dogs in safe, stable and loving homes in the Austin Metropolitan area. Thanks for looking!

Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue and other Petite Paws depends on donations to keep the dogs in our program healthy. Many health issues are taken care of before a dog leaves a rescue: spaying, neutering, immunizations, dental care, and in some cases major surgery. Because of the cost of this care, donations are essential to enable us to continue our work. If you would like to show appreciation for what we do and help us continue to do it please go to our website homepage and click the donate button. We thank you in advance for your support.
