Toby's Story
Please read our Core Values prior to applying at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com/adopt/our-expectations.

Update 11/10/2025 If Toby was a human, he would be that shy boy that stands at the edge of the crowd at school dances. He would have close friends and stick with them, not wandering far. He would be a little uncomfortable in new situations, but adapt with time. His warm and sweet personality would touch your heart. He would also possess the virtue of humility because he does not want to draw attention to himself, but instead gives that opportunity to others. Toby needs a home with a family who has patience and understands a shy dog. In his foster home, he is more comfortable when his dog buddies are nearby, so he would do best in a home with a confident dog to help him feel brave. He is submissive and gentle, and has a great deal of love to offer to the right humans. Toby often visits nursing homes and has a lot of love to give.

Update 3/2025 We started out with three puppies, Toby, Tessa, and Theo. Now Tessa and Theo have been adopted, and Toby is waiting for his forever home. He is about 10 months old now, We were originally told that these puppies were Dalmatian mixes, but they probably have a variety of other breeds in them as well. So Toby is a mix of who knows? He is a very gentle pup, submissive to the other dogs in his foster home. He likes to be noticed and petted, but he also tends to stay in the background and is a laid back kind of boy. He now weighs about 35 pounds.

Toby has had opportunities to visit nursing homes, also is going to take part in a yoga class this week, and will attend a minithon at a local high school. He can be a little bashful, but he quickly adapts to new situations and is a tender hearted pup. He would do best in a home with another dog who could be his guide and friend. And of course, with humans who will love and appreciate him. He has not been around young children, so older children would probably be best.

Update 1/9/2025. Toby is such a sweet soul, a dear pup, who is very tender hearted. He is now about nine months old and weighs close to 30 pounds. Toby has a shy personality and so he especially is attached to his sister, Tessa. He follows her around and lets her take the lead. They play together in the yard endlessly, they eat together, and they even sleep together. So Toby would probably do best if not separated from Tessa. If anyone is looking for two pups, Tessa and Toby would be a nice match. Tony’s soulful eyes will capture your heart.

Posted 7/24/2024. Seven puppies were dropped off at a shelter and needed to be rescued. After a few weeks, four of them were pulled from the shelter, but there were still three left. Now those three pups are a part of Furry Friends Network and beginning an adventure of their own!

Adoption application, home visit and adoption fee required. If you would like to apply for adoption, please complete the online application at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com. Look under ADOPT tab. Please consider opening your heart and home to a homeless animal. To find out more about becoming a Foster Parent, see our website at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com. Look under VOLUNTEER tab.

As part of our adoption agreement, we require that you and your adopted canine attend a minimum of one group basic obedience course within 4 months of adoption. If adopting a puppy under 4 months old, we also require a group puppy socialization course be started immediately upon adoption.

In addition, we require that puppies under 6 months of age will not be alone for more than 4 hours at a time in an 8 hour workday. We highly encourage working families to consider older puppies and adult dogs, but if your heart is set on a puppy, please consider doggie daycare.

Pet ID: Stephanie G
PA Kennel License # 5011
