Tobias's Story

General Tobias, or more commonly known as Toby, is an extremely spirited little bundle of energy that is looking for the perfect home to help him really fulfill his potential and thrive. Being found out in the snow as an abandoned puppy at a mere 6-7 weeks old, he has taken the last few weeks to heal from both a gnarly case of frost bite and a slight wound to his trust for humans. Now that he has really been able to become comfortable in his foster home, his personality has really been given the opportunity to show itself.

Toby would be best described as nothing other than a hungry little land shark (his foster momma would even joke that there has to be Belgian Malinois in his breed mix ha-ha) with the most hilarious attitude. He is constantly looking for a toy to throw around, pant legs to pull on, food/treats to inhale, or people/animals to chase around and play with. He does like to get rowdy, and it is believed that he would do best in a home that would help him appropriately channel this desire to go-go-go.

Toby is fully vetted. With that said: he has been neutered, microchipped, fecal tested, dewormed/put-on broad-spectrum prevention (covering both heartworm and fleas/ticks/worms), and vaccinated according to the most current puppy vaccine scheduling. In addition to his vetting, Toby has been started on some basic puppy training, including kennel and potty training. If you are looking for a pup that will always keep you on your toes, Toby is your man!

If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website at arporescue.org to learn more about our adoption process and complete our adoption application. ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis. We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.

Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership, Inc - ARPO's Adoption Policy
ARPO does not have a shelter or physical location. All pets are in foster care. Potential adopters must fill out the Adoption Application. An phone or e-mail interview and home visit are required and does not guarantee adoption. We use these as a tool to make a match for both the adoptive family and the pet. Because home visits are done by a member of our all volunteer staff, we limit this to a 50 mile radius of Indianapolis. Lastly, before taking your new companion, a contract must be signed, including the provision that the adopter will provide quality food, shelter, and medical care. You may follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/adoptarpo/ to find out when and where our next adoption events, fundraisers, success stories, as well as hints and tips in pet care.
