Meet Toasty (male, 1-2 years)<br/><br/>Toasty is about 1-2 years old and is looking for a patient, loving home where he can finally feel safe.<br/><br/>Before coming into rescue, Toasty spent time surviving as a stray around Safeway. Because of that, he missed out on learning many of the things most dogs are taught. He doesn't know how to walk on a leash yet, and new places or experiences can be overwhelming. When he's scared, he may shut down instead of exploring.<br/><br/>Toasty isn't looking for perfection--he's looking for someone who understands that trust takes time. With a quiet, calm home and lots of patience, he's sure to keep making progress. He would likely do best in a home without young children at first, as he needs a peaceful environment where he can build confidence at his own pace.<br/><br/>He may make a wonderful companion for someone who has a secure yard and enjoys simply having a sweet dog by their side.
