Toaster's Story

Meet Toaster! Careful, folks... Toaster is about to pop into your heart! Toaster is a 3-year-old, 20-pound terrier mix with a fun personality and just the right amount of terrier spice. He’s compact, cute, and fully prepared to become your new favorite household appliance. Unlike an actual toaster, though, Toaster gives kisses instead of toast. This handsome little guy is ready for a home where he can be part of the family, enjoy some good adventures, and settle in for plenty of snuggles. At 20 pounds, he’s the perfect size for someone looking for a smaller companion who can still keep up with the fun. Toaster has been waiting for his chance to find his people, and we think he’s ready to go from shelter pup to breakfast-table VIP. So if your home is missing one very cute, slightly toasted terrier, Toaster is ready to fill the slot! Applications can be submitted at www.southsidespca.org

Southside SPCA's Adoption Policy

Cats: Applications can be found on our website AND the Petsmart adoption stand located on CarMia Way off Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond’s southside. You are welcome to visit with the adoptable cats and kittens at Petsmart anytime during store hours. An adoption counselor will gladly schedule an appointment for an approved applicant to meet cats outside of the cage, we can generally work around your availability. Please note that the Petsmart staff does not show our cats. Petsmart is kind enough to provide the site to house our adoptable cats and kittens while they await adoption. Adoption of cats or kittens at the shelter will be by appointment with an approved application. Dogs: Applications can be found on our website or at one of our Petsmart adoption events. We often receive several applications per dog. Applications are reviewed by an adoption’s team that determines the best applicant for the dog. Once approved you will be contacted by an adoption counselor and an appointment will be scheduled at the shelter or at an adoption event. We can generally schedule appointments any day of the week during shelter hours. We try to respond to approved applicants within 24 hours. Please note that if you are not contacted for a particular dog or cat, it could mean multiple applications were received or that dog or cat is no longer available. Please keep watching our website and Facebook. Thank you for your interest and patience. We have a staff that is very dedicated and hard working. Our goal is to provide the best adoption experience for the adopters and the animals in our care. www.southsidespca.org
