Toad's Story

Meet Toad!
Toad might be a little shy at first, but once he feels comfortable, his sweet personality really shines. This gentle boy may take a moment when meeting new people or dogs, but he's friendly and warms up into a total lover once he knows he's safe.

Toad absolutely loves ear scratches and belly rubs--and he's not shy about reminding you to keep the pets coming. If you stop too soon, he'll happily nudge you for more attention.

He enjoys playtime too! His current favorite toys are a rope and a flat basketball, and he's always excited to carry them around or start a little game. Toad does well in his kennel and even eats his meals there, settling in nicely with his routine. He's also doing well with leash training and continuing to gain confidence every day.

With a little patience and a lot of love, Toad blossoms into a sweet, affectionate companion who just wants to be close to his people!Big Paws of the Ozarks is a foster-based dog rescue in Northwest Arkansas. Big Paws of the Ozarks's Adoption Policy
All adopters must fill out an application on our website with all necessary information. From there, our staff will conduct a phone interview and answer any questions regarding the dog or the adoption process. Once approved, a meet and greet is scheduled with the family, dog, and dog's foster family. This is the time where other pets can be introduced. If the meet and greet goes well, we can send the dog in a trial adoption for a few days to make sure it is a perfect fit for everyone. From there the adoption is finalized through payment of the adoption fee and transferring of vet records.
