Tito's Story

Introducing Tito, a four-year old, neutered toy poodle, that was surrendered due to his owners' health situations. Tito has lived with his mom and dad, two adult children, and another dog, that was older and the boss. Tito was well-loved by his family, and they felt due to their health, he needs more than they can give him.

This peppy pooch is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations appropriate for his age. He is also microchipped. He is crate trained, but he has not needed it. He is house trained, walks well on a leash, enjoys the outdoors, and likes to rest on the couch or near his people. He snuggles and will entertain himself with snuffling noises. He is a hoot. In the morning he loves to greet everyone. His two favorite games are tug of war and playing fetch.

He has been learning about other animals since he was a townie dog and is now experiencing the country. He has met horses (he barked at them, but then he wandered away from them). He is not sure about cattle, but he enjoys following chickens around. The chickens do not care for him; he does not chase them. He has met an indoor/outdoor cat and has learned respect. He understands that the hiss means stay away, and he does.

Tito has had a steep learning curve at his foster home. He is learning about rules and boundaries. At times when learning new things, he will be rebellious. This is the point where he needs savvy dog people. He needs people who have adult children, patience, and an understanding that his rebellion is because he is insecure. After a short time, he will do what is asked of him. He even asks for forgiveness. He will test the new adopters. He is treat motivated which helps with his temper tantrum.

He has been learning to wait for you to give him permission to enter or leave when coming or going outside. He takes treats gently. He knows sit, wait, off, and "No". He is up to date on shots appropriate for his age, house trained, crate trained...he doesn't really need it, and neutered.

Tito is looking for a person or family who will continue teaching him rules and boundaries with love and patience. He wants to please his people. It just takes time. If you feel that you can continue his education to help him achieve the best part of himself, take the time to meet him. Go to pawswi.com and complete the application. Tito's adoption fee is $450 which includes tax.
