Tira's Story
Tira is a sweet, playful, and affectionate pup ready to bring fun and excitement to your life. True to heeler form, Tira is curious, smart, and a quick learner.

She’s had a rough start in life. At only 6 months old, she found herself in a large shelter with a broken leg and no owner coming for her. The break was several weeks old and on a growth plate that was already healing itself. After consultations with her vet and an orthopedic surgeon, it was decided to let her keep healing on her own. Tira’s leg hasn’t slowed her down in the slightest and she shows no signs of pain at all. We are so happy to report she’s doing great!

She has done wonderfully with her foster home’s cats. She does show interest in them, but it’s simply because she wants to play. She respects their boundaries and knows when to leave them alone.

Tira has been fantastic with the dogs in her foster home as well, respecting everyone’s boundaries. One of the resident dogs isn’t a fan of having a puppy around, and Tira has been wonderful about respecting that and giving her space.

Tira is smart as a whip! Her foster family started teaching her to sit and she had it mastered in just 2 days. She currently knows sit and down, and they are now working on stay.

She is working on her leash walking skills. With some patience, positive reinforcement, and training we know she will excel in learning this skill too. Having another confident dog to show her the ropes could also make a world of difference!

She is still just a baby, and she has a lot to learn and experience. We would like her adopter to provide her with the guidance, socialization, and activity needed to help her continue to grow into a great dog.

Tira is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Tira is small now, but we think she will grow to be about 35 pounds. She has a docked tail.
