Tina's Story

~ A GENTLE SOUL LOOKING FOR A LOVING HOME
Their mom lived a difficult life. She had a family, but they had very little and thus, she had very little. They were a kind family and loved her, but when you have nothing, everything is hard. She mostly lived on the street, got pregnant, had puppies and it stretched the situation beyond. They looked for help and found us. The mom and 5 puppies were picked up and taken to the vet for all the normal tests. The first is always distemper, and as soon as momma tested positive, we knew we were in trouble. She wasn’t showing any symptoms so maybe, just maybe, there was a chance. Distemper is very contagious, we knew the puppies had been exposed, and the family needed a place to fight. There was no space, but Claudia always makes magic happen and she did it again. She cleared out the home where smaller, younger and sick fosters normally stay so there was a quarantine area to receive them. They got all the best treatment possible – a special serum that is costly but helps greatly in the fight along with immune support medication. We did all we could and then we waited…three precious puppies did not make it, but mom Esmeralda and two puppies did (celebrate the victories!). Tina is one of the two lucky survivors. Against all odds, she fought…… and she won.

Tina is about 10 months old, weighs around 8.700 kilos, and is a beautiful mixed breed.

Tina is a very sweet and special girl. She gets along well with women and men of all ages, and while she can be a little shy at first, once she feels safe her gentle and loving personality shines through. She does great with other dogs and gets along well with cats. Tina is comfortable sharing food and toys and enjoys spending her days playing calmly with her foster friends.
Tina has a slight tic as a result of her distemper. It does not cause her pain and does not affect her quality of life; it’s simply a small part of what makes her unique. Loud noises and traffic do not bother her; she walks nicely on leash and behaves well when passing other dogs on the street. Tina is looking for a loving home that will allow her to blossom at her own pace and remind her every day that she is safe and loved.

Tina’s adoption fee is $550, which includes her flight, spay, vaccinations, and full vetting.
