Timbit's Story

Timbit is hot off the cold street where he was found fending for himself at the gas station garbage can. This sweetie pie is still recharging from whatever he endured for his first few months and is soaking up warmth, sleep, food, and affection at his foster home. Whatever the first chapter of his life was like, Timbit has started the second chapter which is called "All Love, All the Time".

Timbit is a yellow lab mix who is about 5 months old and as sweet and yummy as the middle of the donut he is named for. Whether your fave flavour is sour cream glazed, old fashioned, or birthday cake, it doesn't matter to Timbit. He's an open book who is going to fit into a family as long as they are loving and attentive. Dogs, check. Cats, check. Kids, check. Adventures..... yes! Up until now Timbit's life has been about fending for himself and he's ready to hand that responsibility over to his people so that he can focus on thriving.

Timbit is currently about 30 pounds and is expected to finish off around the perfect 55 pound mark, though it is always a best guess with pups from unknown parents. He has a deep, plush winter coat that you can lose your fingers in and you will have lots of opportunity to sink your hands in it as he cuddles next to you on the couch. Timbit loves other dogs and it's a joy to watch the sheer happiness that emanates from him as he finds the pleasures of toys. Timbit is great off leash and loves to bounce around with his foster mates through the fields, and while this boy will get to know a leash at some point, his foster is prioritizing Timbit's introduction to his very own nirvana. While decompressing, Timbit is crate training (which is not his fave because it takes him away from his people), housetraining (which he's really good at), learning that those days of worrying about food are over. From now on, food is always on the menu : )

Timbit is looking for a puppy smart home who will enjoy getting to know their new family member as he continues to transition and show his gentle, loving self. Even though Timbit is not a super young pup, he is still a pup who will benefit from support and patience as he gets to know his new, big world. Whoever welcomes Timbit into their life will have won the lottery!

Timbit is up to date on core vaccinations, dewormed, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $750. He is currently fostering in Caledon.

Adoption process includes application, virtual home visit, phone interview, reference check, meet & greet, adoption contract and $750 adoption fee.

Fill out the ADOPTION APPLICATION at:
https://secure.ifaw.org/canada/northern-dogs-adoption-application-form

(Copy the above link and paste it into your browser).

.

Northern Dogs Project's Adoption Policy
Northern dogs are not a breed but a lifestyle. Until recently most dogs were free roaming but communities are now making changes to how they want to coexist with dogs and many are now tying. Dogs are all identified by Animal Care and are adopted to families in the south as family members only. Northern dogs are smart, experienced, dog social, have been handled by kids, feel safe with women, and are slightly unsure of men at first. Dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (core vaccines DAPP and rabies), microchipped and dewormed.
