My recent experience with Sadie is that she warms up very easily now and in 2 days has become a velcro dog with me. She walks gently on the lead and has not shown much interest in passing dogs. She recently was very gentle and playful with a Labrador that we met on our walk in the neighborhood. I haven't noticed any lunging at passing cars either. She has shown good recall in the house. She is very playful. Sadie is a very sweet, gentle girl.<br/><br/>Sadie 6924 (formerly Timberly 6924) was adopted from VGSR in 2023. Sadly, she is being returned due to the health of her owners and their inability to exercise her. She is around 4. Sadie is a good dog who is shy with new people and takes time to fully warm up. Once she does she is very Velcro. She has gone through obedience training and knows commands. She walks pretty well on leash but has started to lunge at passing vehicles. She’s not had a ton of dog socialization but loves playing with her owner’s daughter’s dog. She does have a prey drive so no cats. She has also been around small children but has been protective of them.<br/><br/>Two years ago: Timberly 6294 is a young girl who has gorgeous eyes and is a complete sweetheart! She came out of a rural shelter as an owner surrender due to a divorce. We have no idea what her life was like prior to coming into VGSR but we believe she was likely kept in a crate or kennel most of the time. She is shy and cautious when meeting new people and takes a little bit of time for her to warm up. Once she is comfortable she is the sweetest girl who loves getting belly rubs and giving smooches! She loves laying by the door and looking outside. Timberly is full of sweetness and is affectionate. She is a Velcro dog who bonds quickly, loves to be close by and follows her people throughout the house. She enjoys napping on the couch, chewing a good bone and she loves sniffing every inch of the yard. She has exhibited a prey drive and enjoys chasing squirrels and birds. She has a playful side and will chase a ball and run zoomies. She walks pretty well on leash and did great during a 2 mile walk with a male GSD. She enjoyed all the smells and was very polite to all people and dogs who passed by. She rides really well in a car and enjoys going to work with her foster dad some days. She does well in a crate after having time to settle. She knows some basic commands like "sit" and has pretty good manners other than the occasional excited jump to give kisses. She is house trained. Timberly would likely not do well in a home with a cat based on her interest in wildlife. Timberly lives with older children and does well with them. Timberly needs an adopter who can be patient with her, allow her time to adjust to her new home and help build her confidence. If you're looking for a sweet girl who is a great size and will make a great companion, Timberly is your girl. She has been vetted, microchipped and spayed.
