Tim's Story

"Meet Tim, a big personality crammed into a teeny tiny 6–7 lb body. At 5 (almost 6), this little Chihuahua is sensitive, cautious, and learning to trust at his own very slow, very Tim-approved pace. He is adorable, expressive, and fully committed to doing things his way.

Tim is a fearful little guy and will need a patient, adult-only home that understands this is a long-term trust-building situation. He does not like being picked up, will not allow a leash to be put on him (unless you can distract him with treats), and it will take a good amount of time before he is comfortable with petting. Even once he warms up, affection happens strictly on his terms. But when he chooses you, it feels like winning the lottery.

Now for the fun part. Once Tim truly trusts someone, he becomes super snuggly and transforms into a tiny, affectionate shadow who just wants to be near you, still on his terms, of course. Those rare, hard-earned cuddle moments are pure magic and absolutely worth the wait. He is silly, playful, and loves his toys. He is also free-roam trustworthy, and gets along well with other dogs.

Tim is looking for someone who loves an underdog story and understands that progress comes in baby steps. He needs patience, consistency, and someone who celebrates the small wins like “he sat closer today” or “he didn’t run away this time.” In return, you get the honor of being Tim’s safe place and watching him slowly blossom into the sweet boy we know he can be. If you’re ready for a tiny dog with big feelings and even bigger charm, Tim is ready to meet you."

Tim is being fostered in Longmont, Colorado.

*We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.*

You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/tim/.

You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.
