Tigger's Story
The Wonderful Thing about Tiggers is Tiggers are Wonderful Things!

Hi Friends! My name is well, you may have guessed it already - but it’s Tigger! That’s right, just like from Winnie The Pooh!

Just like that Tigger - I am full of energy and love, and ready to bounce my way into my furever home. I am a 3-year-old, large mixed breed neutered male, weighing in at about 60lbs. I’m vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on my heartworm testing.

My past is a little fuzzy, my owner moved far away and left me with a friend, but he never came back for me, and where I was staying didn’t have the resources to care for me long term, so they turned to AVAS for help - so I moved in here and I’m looking for my furever family!

Because I’m such a happy go lucky guy, I am looking at my past as an opportunity to make new friends! Since I’ve been here at the shelter, I’ve made friends with lots of volunteers who are helping me work on my leash walking, and also friends with a couple of other dogs!

My perfect home would have an active family that loves to be outside and wants to take me with them! I would probably do fine living w/ another dog, provided I get to meet them first to make sure we’re a good fit! I’m not sure about living with those things that meow, I tend to have a little bit of a high prey drive. I would probably do well living with kids, as long as they are stable on their feet - my Tigger self would hate to knock anyone over.

When I’m not hanging out with volunteers at the shelter or with my other dog friends - I’d love to meet you! Bounce on by the shelter, we’re open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm. If you have questions reach out to my friends at AVASCares2@gmail.com or by phone at 989-348-4117. Hope to see you soon!
