Tiger Lily's Story

Recently, Tiger Lily suffered a loss in the form of her person passing away. For the last 2.5 years, she has lived as an only-dog to an elderly man. He had been Tiger Lilys temp foster through the shelter and continued to be there for her once we pulled her into rescue in an effort to save her from euthanasia and get her the extensive emergency dental care she needed. A great fit for each other, Tiger Lily enjoyed being his companion. Now a healthy senior at nearly 10 years young, shes looking for an adopter to spend her golden years with.

Its hard to describe Tiger Lily without overusing the word love. Afterall, thats what shes all about. Tiger Lily loves everyone she meets. When petting this extremely affectionate girl, she leans in as though to say, Where have you been my whole life? Her doting nature is carried over to her stuffed toys. Weve seen her meticulously pick out her favorites from a toy box and, one-by-one, carry them over to her bed before diving in and enjoying them.

Dont let her age fool you: Tiger Lily lights up at the very mention of a walk. Forget all the fitness apps: If you need an exercise partner to motivate you to get your daily steps in, Tiger Lily is there for you. Her preference would be a route that never ends, but shes happy to follow your lead. Tiger Lily is well-mannered on the leash, sticking by your side and waiting for cues.

Tiger Lily would be happy as an only-dog or living as part of a pack. At the end of a long day, this sweet soul will put herself to bed, where she sleeps peacefully through the night. Shes more than ready to find a home to call her own.

Fill out the application to meet Tiger Lily:
https://k9kismet.org/adoption-application/

Follow her on social media @k9kismet: #K9KismetTigerLily
[spayed female; approx. 10.5 years old; 53 lbs]

K9 Kismet Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
Looking to add a new member to your family and think one of our dogs might be a good fit? Here’s the K9 Kismet’s adoption process: 1. Submit Application: There are no trick questions, so please be open and honest in your responses. 2. Phone Interview: Someone from our team will reach out via email or phone to schedule a call. 3. Meet-and-Greet: We keep our numbers low with the intent of knowing all our dogs well. If the dog you’re interested in will likely be a good fit for you and your household, we’ll reach out to the foster to schedule a time to meet. If not, we may have suggestions for other dogs in the rescue. Consider us matchmakers in this process. Feel free to request multiple meet-and-greets; depending on the situation, it may even be encouraged. This is a lifelong commitment and our ultimate goal is to make matches that are ideal for both the dog and their new family. 4. Home Check: Please be prepared to open your home to a representative from our rescue. A home visit allows us the opportunity to ensure the dog will be safe and secure. It’s also a great time for adopters to ask additional questions before finalizing an adoption. We’ll schedule a date and time that is convenient for you. 5. Sign Adoption Contract: This document will be shared in advance and is a necessary piece in the transfer of ownership. 6. Pay the Adoption Fee: We are a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit organization, so the donation you make is tax deductible. All of the dogs in our care receive regular wellness exams, preventative treatment, and specialty care as needed. All are fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered (unless medically waived), and microchipped. For the vast majority of the dogs we pull into rescue, the adoption fee covers a fraction of the cost that went into rehabilitating the dog. Your tax-deductible adoption fee will help replenish funds needed to help another dog in need of rescue.
