Tick - 100% Sponsored Adoption's Story

Meet Tick!

Yes he's built like a bulldozer, but this big-headed meatball is also afraid of snow. Okay not scared, he just really dislikes weather in general and precipitation of any kind is a hard pass. He will go out but he is going to POUT. He prefers the temperature to be between 68 and 74 degrees. (We told him he was born in the wrong state, but he's a huge Buckeyes fan so maybe his adopter can buy him an OSU hoodie.)

He got the name Tick because he had over 100 of the crawly critters on him when he first came into the shelter. Since then his skin has healed up, and he's gained about 25 lbs putting him at a healthy 70lbs.

Here are some things Tick would like you to know if you're interested in being his human companion:

-- He loves a cushy bed or couch, but a pile of blankets will do. He is a huge fan of furniture in general and hopefully yours is sturdy because he IS going to jump on it. (Do you remember being 5 and your folks told you NOT to jump on the bed and then left the room? ..thats Tick.)
-- Treats are non-negotiable. He will eat anything and will shout at you if he feels you're holding out. (He doesnt have an "inside voice" as far as we know.)
--You can substitute butt scratches with rolls in the grass but ideally both will happen as much as possible.
-- No thank you for other animals. You're going to have a full schedule catering to his whims. (He does take frequent naps, so you'll have plenty of time to get all your human stuff done.)

Approximate Birth Date - 07/09/2022

Training - Tick is fully house trained! He also knows sit, down, and wait and probably some other stuff that he hasn't bothered to show us because quite frankly it's beneath him.

If you think you're ready for a doggy overlord in a fuzzy sweater. We gotcha Boi!

A Petfinder inquiry is not a substitute for an application. For detailed information about our adoption process, including fees, please visit our website www.hsmcohio.org

Our adoption fees vary, Shelter Dogs are $180, Prison Dogs are $250, Puppies are $300, and Popular Pure-Breeds are $400. The price includes: a Home Again Microchip, set of shots, de-worming, heartworm testing (if old enough), spay or neuter, and a 1 year rabies shot (if old enough). All dogs adopted must leave with a county license at an additional cost of $21, this fee is cash only. Adoption fees can be done using credit card or cash.
