Tic Tac's Story

Location: Tic Tac is currently living in a foster home! If you'd like to schedule a time to meet her, please contact Wayside Adoptions at (816) 986-4426.

My Friends at Wayside say:
-During my time at Wayside, I have enjoyed being around other dogs.
-I’m smart and food/treat motivated.
-I already know sit, down, and shake!
-I am fully housebroken in my foster home.

My home needs are:
-No apartments or shared living spaces for me, please! I like to use my voice when I am excited.
-If you have kids in the home 9 years old and younger, I will need to meet them before we go home together.
-A fenced yard is a must for me! I need a secure area to run around and release my energy.
-For my safety, I need to go home on an anti-slip collar called a martingale collar. For your convenience, we sell them in our retail store, Whiskers and Wags.

Hi there, I’m Tic Tac! I'm such a good girl! I’m playful, affectionate, smart, and super sweet. I can’t wait to wiggle and squirm my way right into your heart and never leave. That’s what I do. Let me bring an extra smile to your day. Let me make you laugh at my silly antics. I hope that maybe you need a happy little dog like me in your life just as much as I need you.

I’m a darling, 1 1/2-year-old, 29-pound pure sweetheart, with soft fur, the cutest, expressive face, and a charming, joyful, delightful personality. I’m even already fully housebroken. I was transferred to Wayside from the KC Pet Project when they were short on space. I felt sort of stressed and anxious moving from one shelter to another. It’s just hard when you’re all alone in the world. Lucky for me, Foster Mom came into my life. She took me home to help me relax and to give me the nicest break from shelter life. Ah, it feels so nice to be in a real home.

Foster Mom says that I’m the best-behaved dog that she has ever fostered. It makes me so proud to hear her talk about me like that! I’m respectful, I listen well, and I don’t cause any trouble in the house at all. I haven’t had any accidents, and I can be trusted to roam free in the house even when no one is home. I spend my time chilling on the couch or chewing on my beloved Nylabone. At night, I peacefully sleep in the bed with Foster Mom or sometimes on the floor, but I never miss morning snuggles in the bed. I’m an affectionate little fella, and I’m always ready to curl up next to Foster Mom on the couch or burrow under a soft blanket. I make a quick connection with everyone I meet, happily and excitedly greeting visitors with wiggles and kisses, but then staying calm when they sit down to relax. I have so much to offer, so much love to give, and I will make a wonderful companion for my new family.

I love training sessions, both during my time at Wayside and with Foster Mom as well. I’m smart, eager to please, and I take my treats ever so gently from your hand, so I’m a perfect training partner. I will thrive with positive reinforcement and plenty of praise and encouragement when I’m a good girl. Once I learn what you expect from me, I’ll be all in on making you happy and proud.

I have energy to spare, and I’d love a home with active people to play and exercise with me. I love going for walks, and I’m so happy when Foster Mom gets my leash out. She calls me "squirmy wormy" as I eagerly step out into the world for my walks. I use a martingale collar to help me stay safe and secure on my leash. Sometimes I pull, especially when I see other dogs or even people, to a lesser extent. I just get so excited that I pull and bark and yip in a friendly, excitable way to greet everyone. I like to be outside in the fresh air with you, and I’ll even be game to try out running or agility, if you’re into that sort of thing. I also enjoy romping and playing in our fenced yard at my foster home, and I will need a securely fenced yard in my new home as well. While I’m an avid barker during my walks, I don’t bark excessively inside, but I do like to alert Foster Mom to delivery people or other various activities going on outside.

I live with another dog in my foster home and we get along great. He’s not interested in playing, no matter how hard I try, so I’ve agreed to simply coexist with him. I enjoy his company so much. I’d love to go to a home with another playful, social dog, but I’ll be happy as your only dog as well, as long as you have plenty of time and attention to give me. If you have kids under the age of 10, I’ll need to meet them before we go home together, to make sure that we’re a great match. Mostly, I simply want to be an important and involved member of the family. I want to be in the middle of the action, happy to join you in whatever you like to do.

If you’re looking for a loving adventure and cuddle buddy with a goofy side and lots of charm, I think we might be the perfect match. I can’t wait to start making memories together. I can’t wait to be your dog.

Love, Tic Tac
