Thumper's Story

Goofy oversized puppy. Cuddly, playful, and full of joy.

Thumper is a big, goofy puppy with an even bigger personality. He’s smart, eager to learn, and working hard on his manners. He loves to play and romp around, but once he’s gotten his energy out, he’s more than happy to settle in beside you for some serious cuddle time.

He already knows sit and bed, and he politely sits and waits before being fed. True to his name, Thumper is a bouncy, happy-go-lucky boy who approaches life with enthusiasm.

Thumper’s happy personality is even more special when you know what he’s been through. He was saved from the euthanasia list with a badly broken back leg. His femur was surgically repaired with a plate, and that leg has healed beautifully.

He also has an old injury to one of his front legs called carpometacarpal hyperextension. In simple terms, the joint near his wrist doesn’t have the normal stability and support it should, so his paw and lower leg can bend farther than normal when he puts weight on it. Surgery wasn’t considered the best option for him, so Thumper was custom-fitted with a supportive brace instead. His brace will go with him to his forever home, and he gets around wonderfully with it.

Despite everything he endured early in life, Thumper hasn’t let it dampen his spirit. His history suggests he spent the first part of his life on the streets without the safety and care every dog deserves.

Now he’s thriving in his foster home and finally learning what it feels like to be safe, cared for, and loved. But a foster home is only the beginning of his story.

Thumper deserves a family of his very own, one that will love his goofy puppy antics, keep helping him become the best boy he can be, and give him a soft place to land for all those post-playtime cuddles.

Thumper has been through a lot. Now he’s ready for the really good part: going home.
