Thorn's Story
With a name like Thorn, you'd expect something sharp. But spend five minutes with him, and you'll realize he's more sunbeam than storm... soft-hearted, playful, and endlessly loyal!

At nearly 8 years old, Thorn is entering his golden years with a whole lot of love still to give. After a family breakup left him searching for a new beginning, Thorn arrived at the Manor looking for comfort and maybe a birthday party or two. We're happy to report he's found the first part, but he's still holding out hope for a forever home to blow out the candles with.

This Boxer/Aussie Shepherd mix is the kind of dog who will nudge your hand for more pets, light up at the sound of the leash, and make every car ride feel like an adventure. He thrives in the fresh air, delights in the company of other dogs, and prefers his humans to come with calm energy ...and bonus points if you're a guy.

While Thorn does carry a few quirks (he's a jumper, a bit barky, and needs a fenced yard to keep his wandering paws safe) what he really carries is joy. He's good on leash (unless he spots a new friend to greet), smart, affectionate, and takes his daily routines like a champ, including soothing baths and a bit of Pepcid before meals.

His ideal home?
A fenced-in yard, a dog buddy to play with, no small kids, and someone who sees the beauty in an underdog with a heart of gold.

Thorn is adoptable now and he's ready to start his next chapter with someone who sees past the name and into the soul.
