Thor's Story
Meet Thor!
Don't let the might name fool you - this boy is a big ol' softie!
Thor is a 5 year old neutered Husky/German Shepherd mix. His face may look familiar to you - Thor was actually adopted from us about a year ago, and was a long-time resident during his last stay. He was returned due to no fault of his own when his adopter had to move and could not bring Thor along. While this breaks our heart to see Thor back at the shelter, we are excited to help him finally find his forever home!
Through all of the hardship, Thor has remained the same sweet and affectionate boy who just wants a family to call his own. Thor still has plenty of energy, and loves to show his goofy side to his favorite humans. Thor has lived with kids in the past and absolutely adores them! He thrives with some kids to keep him company, and would love to be a part of your family. Thor gets along with female dogs, but he does not like other males. Thor also does not do well with cats or livestock, and will not be adopted to a home with any.
This smart boy is housebroken and already knows the basics of living in a home. However, he has developed some separation anxiety when left alone, (which could be different in a new environment). Due to this we suggest if he is left alone to place him in a 'safe space' like a kennel or a room where he can fell secure. Thor will do best with a family that can provide him with companionship, patience and understanding.
Being a true husky, Thor is also a bit of an escape artist. He is not reliable with collars and can slip put of them or break them, so a harness works best. Due to this, Thor must go to a home with a fenced in yard where he can enjoy the outdoors safely!
Thor is microchipped and neutered, and ready to start his next chapter with a family who understands his needs and can be patient with him as he gets used to moving yet again. We are hoping that his next home will be the one that sticks for a lifetime, as this boy has a heart of gold and truly deserves the best! If you think you could be that home for Thor, stop by and meet him today!
