Thor's Story

See Thor's ever growing photo/ video album at https://photos.app.goo.gl/uKWdbgEJnM6n6fXb6

**Meet Thor – A Brave Siberian Husky in Need of His Forever Home**
Thor is a stunning Siberian husky, estimated to 1-2 years old. He was found wandering the streets of Salem, NH, and brought to our shelter as a stray.
Despite a rough start, Thor's story has taken a turn for the better. Thanks to ARNNE, who stepped in just in time, he was saved from euthanasia and is now working hard on building trust with our dog trainer and dedicated volunteers.
When Thor first arrived, he was fearful and unsure of people. But he has come a long way, learning to trust again, and his progress is truly remarkable. Though still a bit of a work in progress, he’s making strides every day.

General Behavior:
Loyal and Loving. Thor craves affection and has the sweetest quirks—he loves licking hands and gently holding them in his mouth to ask for pets. Thor is quick to trust and adore every person he meets. He is focused and aware with the volunteers he spends time with at the kennels.

Likes & Dislikes:
Thor is up for anything—running, hiking, playing in sprinklers, baths, or just snuggling on the couch. He’s happiest when being petted, playing in puddles, sniffing a scent, playing fetch, playing with like minded dogs, or simply being close to his humans.
Unknown how Thor will be in a home setting as far as a crate. He does not fight going back in the kennel at the shelter.

Training: Training is on-going as Thor has not had the luxury of in-home training. He is very attentive and focused to the people he is with. That, with good Alpha parenting, should make very successful training.

Medical:
Thor is healthy boy. He is neutered and microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

Other Animals:
Thor has not been tested with cats. With proper introduction to like-minded playful dogs Thor plays well.

Children:
Due to Thor's size and energy, older children, teens, who understand this breed would be best.

Home:
Thor is looking for a family that will shower him with the love and kindness he deserves. Energetic dog siblings would be welcome. Due to his affectionate nature and high energy, Thor will do best in a home where he’s included in daily activities and adventures and down time snuggles as well. A fenced yard is needed for those who cannot do daily walks or runs.

Grooming:
A Husky's primary grooming requirement is regular brushing with an undercoat rake or slicker brush to manage their heavy shedding, especially during shedding seasons; bathing is not needed often as their coat naturally repels dirt, and you should never shave a Husky's coat as it provides essential insulation and protection from the sun; other important aspects include nail trimming and keeping an eye on their ears for cleanliness.

Overall:
Thor wakes up each morning happier than the last, reminding us all that life is worth living and love is worth sharing. Many huskies are vocal and sing. Perhaps once Thor realizes he has a forever home you will hear joyful singing.

Are you ready to bring a little more joy and inspiration into your life? Thor is ready to be your loyal companion and best friend.

Depending on your location, meet-and-greets can be arranged.

To adopt Thor, visit arnne.org and fill out an application. A volunteer from will be in touch to help bring this incredible boy home.
