Thor's Story

Are you interested in a dog that is both clever and peppy? Meet Thor! Thor is a 1 year old small breed male. He arrived at the Mendocino Coast Humane Society with his friend Peaches in 2025, and although he has taken time to make friends, he is constantly improving as time goes on. Thor has made great strides in overcoming some of his stranger-danger behaviors thanks to our dedicated volunteers, but he is definitely the type of dog that will require a slow introduction to any potential adopters. Once Thor opens up to you, he becomes a new dog. He has a high energy level, and enjoys playing outside, going for walks, receiving treats, and spending time in the car. When he is all done playing for the day, Thor loves nothing more than to settle down in the lap of his human. He would not do well in a home with small children or cats. Thor would thrive in a home with someone who is willing to take it slow and give him the space he needs to become dog he is meant to be.

Mendocino Coast Humane Society's Adoption Policy
Through our Adoptions Program, we offer a variety of wonderful animals who are deserving of a loving, responsible home.  Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, de-worming, flea treatment, as well as heartworm, feline leukemia and FIV testing.  In addition to being open Monday through Saturday, we also extend our adoption programs reach with our Mobile Pet Adoptions van, which enables us to go into our community with adoptable animals in Mendocino as well as Fort Bragg.  We also feature an adoptable animal weekly on Skunk Radio and in local newspapers. We want you! MCHS is always looking for volunteers. We need people to train dogs, take them out for walks, and to hang out with the cats in our Kitty Cottage. To find out more email us at info@mendocinohumane.org or call us at 964-SPAY.  Website: mendocinohumane.org We are located at 19691 Summers Lane, Fort Bragg, Ca.
