THOR's Story

**BY APPOINTMENT ONLY WITH APPROVED APPLICATION!** Thor is a 5-month-old German Shepherd puppy with a heart as big as his growing paws. He is a gentle, loving, happy boy who greets each day with enthusiasm and a tail that never seems to stop wagging. Thor absolutely adores being around people and will gladly soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. Whether he’s leaning in for extra pets or bouncing around inviting you to play, he simply wants to be close to his humans.

Thor’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. When he first came to us, he had been the victim of a serious dog fight and required multiple procedures and extensive medical treatment. Through it all, he showed incredible resilience and trust. We are thrilled to share that he is now doing very, very well. He has healed beautifully and is fully back to his playful, puppy self, ready to leave the past behind and start a bright new chapter with a loving family.

As a young German Shepherd, Thor is intelligent, strong, and full of energy. He is going to grow into a very big dog, so he will need a home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely run and burn off that puppy energy. Just as important, he needs a dedicated family committed to continuing his training and socialization so he grows into a well-mannered, confident canine citizen. German Shepherds are wonderful, loyal companions, but they thrive with structure, engagement, and leadership. A family with breed experience, or experience with large working breeds, would be preferred to help Thor reach his full potential.

Thor would do well in a home with other dogs and would be fine with cats when given proper, slow introductions. He is a social, affectionate pup who truly wants to be part of the family in every way. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. My adoption fee is $350
