Thor's Story

Hi, my name is Thor! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Snuggly, loving
-Can Live with Kids: Yes - he does fine with kids around 5 years and older!
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history - might be okay as long as they're properly introduced.
-Can Live with Dogs: No thanks, Thor does not enjoy being around other dogs. He's not reactive but does show that he is uncomfortable if other dogs are around.
-Can do Apartment Living: Possibly just keep in mind breed/weight restrictions!
-Potty Trained: Yes
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, one lesson required (breed requirement)
-Energy Level: Low to moderate
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes a neuter
-Additional Information: Thor found himself at the shelter through no fault of his own. It sounds like he was mostly an outdoor dog before, but he is dreaming of a future where he can fully embrace indoor life—especially life on the couch.
Thor is wonderful with people and truly shines when he’s close to his humans. He’s a champion snuggler who would love a home where he can be with his people most of the day, soaking up affection and enjoying plenty of cozy, cushioned spots for lounging. A calm, mellow household would be ideal for this sweet senior.
While Thor is happy to relax, he still has an adventurous side and enjoys getting out for walks to explore and stretch his legs. He does have some skin allergies, so he’ll need a high-quality diet and a family willing to help keep him comfortable and healthy.
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
