Thicket's Story

Thicket, our 6 year old 14 pound Pomeranian, was surrendered with several other pomeranians to the local shelter. We were asked to help as Thicket needed to brush up on some dog skills. We (and probably Thicket) were quite surprised to find out that she was pregnant! Now that Thicket's puppies have all found homes, it's finally time for Thicket to get her own family.

Getting to know Thicket over the last few months has been delightful. She didn't know much about how to be a house dog when we took her in, but thanks to her foster family, Thicket is now crate and potty trained. Thicket is great on a leash too. Not the type to stop and smell the roses, Thicket likes to gain some distance on her walks. She thrives with several outings a day; consider Thicket to be the sports model version of a Pomeranian.

Thicket has been a great mom. She really enjoys when people come over to meet her puppies, especially if she can score some pets of her own. She is good with other animals but ignores a lot of them (her best friend is a big dog that lives next door). We haven't seen Thicket with cats, but Thicket is very gentle so we suspect a dog savvy cat may be workable. Thicket has been fostered with kids and can sense if someone is a dog lover. She gravitates toward people that may want to give her attention.

Thicket bonds hard and is a shadow at home. She is smart and food motivated; we suspect she'll be easy to keep training. Thicket is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives. Her adoption fee is $350.

Now that Thicket has left motherhood behind, she's ready for her forever person.
