Theodora's Story

🐶 Basics
● Theodora! Also responds to Theo and Mama :)
● Age / Size: 8 years, around 10 lbs!
● Rescued in Texas

Theodora is a very loyal little lady, following me around wherever we go in the house. She is extra sweet in the morning, always excited when you open your eyes and there to greet you. When she gets really excited she likes to roll around on the ground and make the cutest grumbling sounds. She’s gotten better with walking in the city and does well walking with my dog, but she definitely gets a little worked up if a bike passes by too close to her (fair enough)!

She’s not a huge barker, but if you have another dog who barks, she will definitely join in.

In just a week she's gotten much more comfortable with my dog, and they now sleep side by side and even give each other little kisses! So she’d do really well with another dog, or as a tagalong pal - she gets a bit understimulated when left alone for too long, which leads to her being extra curious about her environment. She handles being alone quite well in a more enclosed space (I keep her to one room when I’m gone!) and generally sleeps through it and uses a pee pad well, however I don’t leave her alone for more than 4-5 hours so unsure how she’d handle any longer.

One of her sweetest quirks is that she loves to be under the blankets - every night she wiggles her way under the comforter to sleep snuggled up to me. She also loves to demand belly rubs by climbing in your lap or onto your chest and flipping on her back!

She's such a special lady who deserves the world!

**Theodora previously tested positive for heartworm and was treated before she left Texas**

INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
To adopt Theodora, apply on our website www.truenorthrescue.org/adopt and email adopt.truenorthrescue@gmail.com to follow up on your application.

PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL TO ASK IF HE/SHE IS AVAILABLE. IF THIS LISTING IS UP, THE DOG IS NOT ADOPTED YET.

Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you!

True North Pet Rescue Mission's Adoption Policy
First Step: Submit Your Application True North does not issue blanket approvals, we consider the needs of each specific dog when reviewing applications. If you don't have a specific dog in mind when applying, please note this on your application so that we can keep this in mind when reviewing. We require home photos for all applicants, but can accept a video replacement. Please enter as much detail as possible on your application, this helps us better understand what you are looking for and how this relates to the needs of the dog you have applied for. For puppies under 12 weeks, we require a care plan. This includes a plan for when the dog will be left alone, as puppies younger than 12 weeks should not be left alone longer than 2-3 hours at a time. Please Note: Due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is not always possible to reply to everyone. If your application is approved, you can expect the following. Second Step: Application Review & Approval 1. If your application is approved, an email will be sent connecting you with the dog's current foster. At this time, you may schedule a mutually convenient time to meet. 2. After meeting, you have 24 hours to confirm if you would like to move forward with finalizing the adoption. After this, if we have not heard from you, we will begin scheduling other meets. 3. If you choose to finalize, we will issue an adoption contract via email. Once the signed agreement has been electronically returned along with the adoption fee (which will be disclosed prior to adopting), you will be all set to coordinate for pick-up with the foster! Adoption Fees: Our adoption fees are comparable to those found amongst other well-known rescues in the city. We only accept electronic payments for adoption fees.
