Theo-Courtesy Posting!'s Story
Courtesy Posting! If interested in Theo, please email his owner for more information at donna@donna-anton.com. He is located in the Boston area.

Theo is a 10-year-old, 19 pound, house-trained Miniature Poodle who is energetic, fun, personable, and very communicative. He makes excellent eye contact with humans who he prefers to other dogs. Both of Theo's parents were champion show-dogs, which shows in his posture and carriage. He walks well on the leash, enjoys long walks (he does fine on dog-pack walks), though he prefers to be off-leash and play endless fetch in open fields. In short, Theo makes a lovely and lively companion; he was keenly devoted to my late husband, who died almost four years ago.

A year ago I moved with Theo from the UK to the Boston area. For various reasons I now need to return to Europe and unfortunately need to find a new home for Theo.

Theo loves to cuddle, on sofas and in bed, and appreciates routine. Once he trusts someone, he'll sometimes take a shoe or garment to nap with. He's very adaptable, having stayed in friends' homes as a house guest throughout his life. He's also visited four countries and lived in five. Every dogsitter I've used has grown very attached to him.

My situation and lifestyle is unplanned and heartbreaking for me, so I would only allow Theo to be adopted by a poodle-loving human, in a home with a fenced-in yard (no small children, as he can sometimes resort to resource guarding). I could only consider someone who would actively walk and play with him and can afford the extra care. At 10 years old Theo remains relatively healthy, though like most dogs he has grass allergies that requires a daily dose of Apoquel. And like all poodles, with a coat of hair instead of fur, he requires professional grooming every six to seven weeks. He grew up eating a BARF (bones and raw food) diet, but now as a senior dog he does fine on Hill's Digestive Care dry dog food, from the vet, combined with some rice and chicken broth. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccines. A rehoming fee of $150 will be required, which will be donated to the rescue group.

Courtesy Posting!
