Theo's Story

Theo is a supermutt mix around 6 years old, with a big heart and an even bigger love for cuddles. Medium-energy and full of personality, he’s a goofy, affectionate boy who’s happiest when he’s close to his people. He’s looking for a dedicated forever home that will love him for who he is and help him continue to thrive.

Theo has been living in Toronto, but he’d likely thrive in a quieter suburban or country home. However, with the right family he could still live happily in the city.

He would do well as the only dog or with a calm, compatible dog. Theo is best suited to a home without cats and no children. (no small children).

With his longtime structured dog walker @walkswithwinnie_dogcoach, Theo has developed great social skills with other dogs when introduced properly and has good handler engagement. He’s also crate trained, well mannered in the home, and content to relax after his daily exercise.

Theo’s Best Qualities:
•Sweet, goofy, and loyal who loves belly rubs and cuddles
•Calm at home and great being left alone and in the crate
•Medium energy, happy with about an hour of exercise a day
•Thrives with drive outlet games/play and structured activities

Things to Know About Theo:
•Can be wary of strangers (especially men) but does well with slow, calm introductions
•Strong prey drive toward squirrels and cats, not off-leash reliable, would recommend ecollar training
•Not a dog park dog, but enjoys structured social walks with familiar dogs
•Sensitive to loud noises (like trucks), which can trigger reactions/redirections. He is muzzle-trained and very comfortable wearing it
•May react to barking dogs, but has good obedience foundation

Theo is a dog who bonds deeply and has so much love to give. With the right home, one that understands his triggers and provides structure, patience, and affection.
