Thelma Jane's Story
Meet Thelma Jane, a pint-sized heartthrob with short legs, a long wheelbase, and a heart that’s way bigger than her under-1-year-old, 28-lb corgi-mix body. We found this little rascal wandering through the woods, but one look into her honey-brown eyes—those soulful windows that say “you may think you rescued me, but I’ll love you so hard you’ll feel rescued”—and we knew she belonged with people. Sweet, gentle, and endlessly affectionate, Thelma considers snuggling an Olympic sport and is happiest soaking up pets from humans and canine friends alike. She’s fantastic with kids, adults, and other dogs, equally comfortable hanging with the homies or letting her “racing stripe” loose at the dog park. Don’t let the low-rider build fool you—she’s playful, curious, and full of joy, while still preferring love just slightly more than exercise. A smart little sponge, Thelma is making great strides with crate training, learning her name, and picking up basic commands. She loves toys, car rides, chicken breast with yogurt, soft blankets, belly rubs, and winding down after a busy day with Friends reruns on the couch. At first glance you might think she’s Batman—or maybe a superhero in disguise—but once you meet her, you’ll see she’s pure sweetness with instant best-friend energy and absolutely zero interest in being a stray ever again.

Adoption fee: $500 (includes spay, microchip, and vaccines to date)
Apply at www.lakesideanimalrescue.com
