Thelma's Story
Thelma. and Louise are blank slates right now... just two beautiful, fluffy, bundles of furry love muffins. They are 12 weeks on 7/17/25 Spayed, microchipped, current on heart worm and flea tick preventions as well as vaccinations. they are coming to Little Rhody Rescue on 7/26/25

We were called a month ago. they were a mere 8 weeks of age. A breeder couldn't sell all of the puppies that he INTENTIONALLY Bred and they were brought to an already overcrowded , noisy , filthy shelter. The breeder-jerks were going on vacation and didn't want to pay to board them.
The ACO called our pal Juanita and explained that as owner turn ins, there would be no room to keep them. He had them in his office. Would she please reach out to her network of rescues and see who might take them? We have no room to keep them and we will be forced to put them down at the end of the day.
She literally SCRAMBLED, made dozens of calls and then called us.
GSD's are 'our' favorite and I caved.

... These are purebred (no papers) German Shepherd dogs....they were raised with their littermates We think that they will make EXCELLENT service dogs - they are the PERFECT age to begin training, socializing and bonding.
They have super sweet,, fun-loving personalities and are just SO enamored with everyone!
Consider German shepherds carefully- they NEED training, guidance and to learn trust - they need a firm and fair hand- they are SMART and super social when raised properly- DO YOUR RESEARCH before you adopt one.
They are shedding MACHINES. Have a Good vacuum!
.....they can be barky and strong willed.
but after having had so many pass through this rescue and 9 ourselves in our home, they are our preferred breed!!!! I will ALWAYS have one ; or four!

Go to LittleRhodyRescue.org to fill an application ! **Be sure to call your veterinarian and references to let them know that we WILL be calling.
