Texas's Story

Meet Texas

At almost 4 years old, this handsome, neutered guy is equal parts big teddy bear and loyal best friend. Texas is a total "mush ball" at heart-his favorite place in the world is right by your side. He lives for connection and just wants to soak up as much time with his people as possible.

Texas is eager to please and loves having a job to do. He's a quick learner who picks up new tricks and commands with ease, especially when treats and praise are involved. Whether it's learning something new or just hanging out on the couch, he's happiest when he's with you.

Shelter life has been tough on Texas. The noise and routine are stressful for him, and he really struggles with going back into his kennel after spending time with people. Because of this, he would thrive in a home where he can be part of the action and spend plenty of quality time with his family.

Texas has previously lived with another dog and may do well with a canine companion after a proper introduction. Due to his strength and his lovable "small dog in a big body" personality, we think he'd do best in a home with kids 8 and up-he just doesn't always realize how big he is and could accidentally knock over a smaller child in his excitement to love on them.

If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Texas just might be your guy. He's ready to trade in kennel stress for couch cuddles.

Apply to adopt today, and/or email dogs@rispca.org with any questions!
