Tex Dutch Shepherd & Plott Hound Mix Manhattan, KS

Hi my name is Tex and I'm a medium sized 10 month old cattle dog mix (we know this because PPAWS saw my momma). My dad was probably a plotthound boxer mix because I have the plott brindle and I talk and howl sometimes but I also have a tiny underbite and like to "box" when I play ?. I'm very shy and still unsure of the world and am looking for a family with gentle patience to help me learn that I'm safe. Once I trust someone I bond very quickly. I am smart, loving, devoted and playful and learn tricks and rules with ease. I enjoy the company of other dogs but am spooked by other animals although that may change. I'm house trained and crate trained and not very mischievous. I prefer to be by my person and know where they are but would be fine in the crate while they are away. I like to give a lot of kisses and hugs and don't like a lot of excitement around me, at least for now,, so a calm household with older children or just adults (and other dogs) would be best for me.
