-Tessa in Maine's Story

Hi, I'm Tessa! I'm a happy and friendly dog. I love meeting new people and will always go over and say hello when you come to the door. And if you tell me it's time for a car ride! Wooooo - I'll hoist myself right in and we can be on our way. I came to Maine from Georgia, where I stayed with an awesome foster family. They took me on lots of adventures, but I hear Maine is very different from Georgia. I'm excited to hike new trails, visit the beaches and experience the change in the seasons! Do you think I will like snow? Now, at my age, I'm not super rambunctious, so I won't need three mile runs, or 10 mile hikes. Nope, just a slow leisurely walk around the neighborhood on a regular basis will do me just fine. So I'm pretty much the perfect dog for people of any and all walking speeds!

I would like to be your one and only love in the house though. I don't think that's too much to ask - I mean look at me? I'm beautiful, I'm loving, I'm friendly and outgoing. You don't need more than one pet when you have me!!! I'm just perfect!

My foster mom in Georgia had this to say when asked why I'm the best!
"Why adopt this senior pooch? All the time consuming actions to teach a dog are already taught. She practically already comes trained (would need some more assistance with "down" and "stay"), she has great behavior, she's happy to be around and please humans without being stuck on them like Velcro, is alert, and just an all-around easy dog to have."

So there you have it, everything you need to know about me, the one-and-only Tessa. I'm excited to make my home in Maine and can't wait to see you walk through the door to take me home!

PS - I'm housetrained and cratetrained!

PLEASE NOTE - We will check your veterinary reference, to ensure that current and prior pets have a history of being kept up to date on vaccines, annual exams and recommended bloodwork. We also do home checks to make sure that your home environment meets the needs of the particular dog you are interested in.

If you’re interested in adoption, please fill out our online adoption survey at http://olddogsnewdigs.com/form-adoption.html.
