Terah's Story
Meet Terah!

Listen, this dog has NO business being as sweet as she is. Literally none. If you saw the condition this dog came to us in, you would be wondering how she isn't absolutely furious at the entire world. Her skin was raw, inflamed, bloody, and crusting. Her fur was completely gone in most places. She has giant callouses on all of her pressure points. Her ears were so infected that they were nearly swollen shut. She was so uncomfortable that she had every right to not want anyone near her.

And the first thing she did during her initial veterinary exam was waddle over and hide her face in someone's lap.

She's still in the process of recovering but she already looks a hundred times better.

Terah is an older girl, a little over eight years old, and she's about 60lbs. The way this dog looks at you will simultaneously break your heart and heal every single one of your past traumas. There is so much trust and complete and utter devotion in this girl's eyes - literally all she wants is to be snuggled and sweet talked. She likes the simple things in life - belly rubs, a sunny patch of grass, and leisurely walks.

Terah has been okay with other dogs here but she is definitely uncertain of their intentions and will bark her head off if they approach her too quickly. She may do well with the right dog but would probably do best as the only dog. She doesn't seem to really know what a cat is or does or what the purpose of one is. We would prefer older children but exceptions MAY be made for the right family with experience.

She, obviously, has some skin issues which WILL be chronic. We've had her on a poultry-free diet and have been giving her weekly medicated baths which have helped IMMENSELY.

Terah just needs a soft place to land. She's a gentle soul and a tender-hearted dreamer girl. She's just looking for someone to love her as much as she loves them.

Since she is a restricted breed, you must own your own home or live in a home owned by a family member.

To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application.
