Teka's Story
Teka is the ultimate special needs dog that is in need of a new forever home. Teka is a toy Poodle who is 3 years old – she weighs only about 3 pounds – she was the runt of the litter and never grew much. Her owner was moved into an assisted living facility and can no longer care for her.

This girl does have some health issues that the adopter will need to take care of upon adoption. She needs her teeth cleaned and most likely a few pulled (she is already missing a few teeth). Teka also has a birth defect that needs to be taken care of the cruciate ligament in her knee does not operate correctly causing her knee cap to slip in and out of place making it very difficult for her to walk, she does walk but she wobbles and it is not comfortable for her. Estimates from the vet she has been taken to were approximately $100 for the teeth and $200 for the knee.

She is great around other dogs however she gets a bit fearful at first because of their size and she barks and postures like she's a big dog… it's quite funny but soon is very friendly if the other dog is friendly, usually the other dog just looks confused:). Teka gets along with cats if the cat is nice, she's be nice too, she's very loving and friendly.

Teka is not potty trained to go outside but she does go on the potty pad most of the time but not always with more time. When she is able to walk better and move quicker we are sure she could be easily trained to go outside. She's really smart.

This little pint sized wonder is great with strangers, treats them like family as soon as they hold her close and pet her she snuggles right in. She doesn't bark incessantly but she does bark to be picked up. She will however have to go to a home with either no children or with children over 14 due to her size.

Teka is spayed and current on all vaccines

If you are looking for a happy, friendly girl who gets along with everyone then please complete an adoption application; you can complete one on-line at http://www.fuzzypawzrescue.com/adoptionapplication.htm

Please keep in mind a teeth cleaning and knee surgery are mandatory upon adoption.
