Meet Tehya Bear

Tehya is a five year old female giant schnauzer who was an owner turn in. The husband had had two heart attacks and the family life became out of kilter. Tehya had lived very successfully for five years with a female Airedale and mini schnauzer. In the last two weeks she decided she didn't like the female mini. There were other dogs in the household and all of a sudden she didn't like them. We will be testing her for thyroid problems.

Tehya had a broken rear femur at the age of 13 weeks and not sure that anything was done for it other than splint it. She will be checked out with that also. She is easily mobile and has no problems getting around but she can't jump up on anything without help. The family didn't socialize Tehya with people outside of their family so she is very uncertain of strangers. She loved the children she lived with who were very young and elementary school age. There was a wide range of adults that lived in her house and she loved them.

We will be working with Tehya on her social skills. She has come a long long way in just one week, so we have high hopes for her. She transferred easily yesterday to three different cars. She rides well in the car and gets into the car easily unless it is high and then she needs an assist.

Tehya's adoption fee is $250. If you are interested in this dog, please email us Applications in the immediate area are given preference and you need to be within a day's driving distance to come and pick up a dog.
