Teddy – The Goofy Wallflower with a Heart of Gold's Story

Teddy may seem a little shy at first glance, but behind those cautious eyes is a playful, affectionate pup just waiting for the right person to bring him out of his shell. When he first arrived, the world was a big, noisy, confusing place — and he wasn’t sure who to trust. But with a little patience, we discovered a whole new side to him — the one that lights up the minute he gets outside.

Once Teddy’s paws hit the grass, he transforms. Suddenly, the shy boy turns into a goofy, tail-wagging explorer. Every leaf becomes an adventure, every new scent a thrill. He loves to romp, bounce, and throw himself into playful bows like he’s inviting you to join in the fun. His joy is contagious once you earn his trust.

Teddy is still learning that the world is a safe place, so he’ll need a calm, understanding home to help him feel secure. He can be nervous at first and may try to dart when scared, so extra care during the adjustment period is key. Once bonded, he’ll repay that patience tenfold with loyalty, kisses, and his signature goofy grin.

Age/Breed: 1-year-old male, tan German Shepherd mix

Weight: ~45 lbs

Dog Social: Great with friendly, tolerant dogs! Loves to play once he warms up — goofy, high-energy style.

Leash Manners: Learning quickly; he now looks to his handler for reassurance and loves his walks.

Teddy is the definition of a hidden gem — a shy heart wrapped in a playful, lovable goofball exterior. Give him a chance, and you’ll find a best friend who just needed someone to believe in him.
