Teddy 's Story
Teddy was rescued from Will County Animal Control. It is hard to believe this 95-lb hunk was once a stray and that his microchip led to a dead-end. He was a staff favorite at the shelter due to his sparkling personality.

Teddy is a 9-year-old gentle giant who loves to snuggle on the couch. He is very people-friendly!

Teddy would thrive in an active family or possibly in a home with another dog to keep him company. He does not need a fenced yard, but he does need people who are around often and willing to engage his smart mind with walks, playtime, and enrichment. It was noted at the shelter that he can be pushy with dogs but is easily corrected, so he would need to meet any dogs in your home. He has not been cat-tested. He walks well on leash with occasional slight pulling.

Teddy is vaccinated, neutered, and house-trained. His foster family has avoided foods and treats with chicken, just to avoid any potential allergies. He does not use a crate and can be left alone at night or while you are away.

Teddy will alert you by being talkative when he needs to go outside, is bored, or is ready to eat. He is a champion beggar but is polite and will not swipe food from counters or plates.

Teddy currently lives in a home without a fence. His foster always goes outside with him, and he does not stray or run off. He is a world-class frisbee catcher, so do not let his age fool you. He has lots of energy, and playtime is his favorite time (next to dinner, of course).

Teddy is ready to be your loyal friend, walking partner, and all-around buddy. If you are looking for a loving, well-mannered dog with a big heart and an even bigger personality, Teddy cannot wait to meet you.
