Teddy's Story

Hi there, I’m Teddy—a two-year-old German Shepherd/Lab mix with a heart as big as my paws and a tail that never stops wagging. Life threw me a curveball when my owner passed away, and I ended up at the Wake County Shelter with my cat sibling. She was lucky enough to be scooped up by Facilitate Rescue (a cat-only rescue) right away, but I didn’t do so well in the shelter. Kennels just aren’t my thing. I was scared, confused, and on the brink of losing my chance at a future when a kind board member from Facilitate Rescue stepped in and gave me a second shot.

Since then, I’ve been living with a foster family who’s helped me blossom. I spend my days free-roaming the house with multiple cats and another dog, and I’ve been a total gentleman—no chewing, no drama, just good vibes. I’m crate trained for bedtime, but I’d rather not be crated during the day. I’ve got too much joy to share!

I’m super friendly with other dogs and absolutely adore cats. I’ve been going to parks and dog trails every morning and the Lee County Dog Park almost every evening. I’ve met tons of dogs and humans, and I’ve been nothing but playful and polite. I’m still learning how to be my best self—I wasn’t given much guidance in my previous home—but I’m soaking up every new experience like a sponge.

I’d thrive in a home with another dog to romp around with and a fenced-in yard to explore. I’m great with kids too, though I’ll need a little time to get to know them. I’m neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready to find my forever family—the kind that sees me not just as a rescue, but as a loyal companion with a story worth continuing.

I’m neutered, vaccinated, healthy and ready to find my forever home. I’m currently in Sanford, NC, but I can travel out of state if the right home is waiting for me. A transport fee may apply if volunteer transport cannot be arranged. If you’re looking for a sweet, energetic, dog-and-cat-loving buddy who’s ready to fill your life with joy, I just might be your match.
