Teddy would do best as the only pet and would likely thrive in a calm household with a single adult or couple who live a relatively quiet lifestyle.<br/><br/>Teddy is not the type of dog who will be comfortable meeting new people every day or living in a busy home with frequent visitors. He needs someone who is willing to work with him at his pace, respect his boundaries, and help him continue building confidence.<br/><br/>In the right environment, Teddy has the potential to form a strong bond with his people. Were looking for someone who sees the value in giving a dog like Teddy the patience, understanding, and stability he deserves.<br/><br/>---<br/><br/>We do not adopt on a first-come-first-serve basis, but rather by the best match between dog and family, although we will factor in the order of applications if there are equally good matches.<br/><br/>Our adoption fee for adult dogs is $500 which covers the costs of vetting (spay, vaccinations, heartworm testing, preventatives while in our care, deworming and microchip) and any boarding or transport fees incurred in each dog's rescue. Senior dogs are $250.

We do not adopt on a first-come-first-serve basis, but rather by the best match between dog and family, although we will factor in the order of applications if there are equally good matches. Visitors at our shelter are by appointment only and are limited to those who have submitted applications. 1. Submit Application: https://www.lighthouseanimalshelter.org/application-instructions 2. Volunteers review your application. 3. After review, you will be contacted to set up an appointment. 4. Home Check: Some pets require a home visit. In some cases, a home visit is not required. It depends on factors such as fencing, children, & other pets. 5. Sign Adoption Contract: You will receive all medical paperwork, a new leash and collar, and food your new pet is used to eating.
