Taz - IN's Story
Available for adoption in Indianapoolis, In

For more information. Heather McBride. ms.moss.h@gmail.com

Age: 4

Hi! My name is Taz, my foster mom calls me Tazzy. I’ve been on a little world tour, and I am looking for a place to call my own. I was raised down south in the country, and right now I am hanging with my foster family in a busy suburb in the Midwest. Man, the racket around here keeps me busy. My foster mom says I can be sensitive to sounds; I am still learning when I need to let my presence be known and when it’s ok to ignore it. I am also a bit of a grumbler. Foster mom says I missed the memo about bullmastiffs being the strong, silent types.

I currently live with a submissive female bullmastiff, but my foster mom thinks I should be an only dog. While I am happy to share attention with my foster sister, I do not like sharing my toys or other items I value. I am more than happy to trade items with my foster mom or let her take an item I may have mistaken as mine. My foster mom says I am easily re-directed and most of the time, a good listener. I walk nicely on a leash, and I enjoy a 15 minute walk where I can catch some good smells. When I see other dogs, I can be selective on who I bark at but I mind well when I am re-directed. I can have a high prey drive so no little furry animals. My foster mom doesn’t think I would be a good fit with a cat.

I am highly food motivated and foster mom says I could benefit from continued training. I am a guardian breed and I take my role to heart. Due to this, I would need an owner with large, guardian breed experience. Foster mom says I can be a sweet boy and I have an adorable underbite, but I also like to test boundaries, as I am learning to live in a new home. I love carrying around my big stuffed animals, my favorite is dear bear, and chewing on bones keeps me busy and happy.

Due to my size, my foster mom says I would do best in a home with older children, as I am not always aware of my size. I am happy to meet new people, and I do a good job at the vets office. I may need an introduction to new people coming into the home but afterward, I am happy to get pets and visit. I am heart-worm free, up-to-date on all my vaccines, and I am neutered. I have been experiencing some skin issues, mostly on my feet, which I like to chew on. Foster mom said we recently changed my dog food but there is the possibility I would need a prescription from the vet.

Oh, foster mom almost forgot something important, I love pillows and blankets. I especially enjoy tucking them under my chin. So, if you’re looking for a handsome bullmastiff who likes a good cuddle, loves a pillow but takes his job of being the gamekeeper’s guardian seriously, I am the boy for you! Have your people get in touch with mine; I look forward to meeting you!
